Since 2015 I take underwater photographs with a compact camera, without artificial light.
I have contributed to four collective exhibitions organized in Mexico by the Mexican Association of Underwater Image (AMISUB), of which I am a member: The sea in black and white (2018), Mexican reefs (2019), Mexican wrecks (2020) and Colors of our seas (2022). In addition, my photographs have illustrated AMISUB calendars, two of them in collaboration with the National Commission for the Knowledge and Use of Biodiversity (CONABIO) and with the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH): aside from those associated with the exhibitions above, Sharks (2021), Looks of the sea (2023) and Mexican Gulf (2024).
My photographs have also been published in two science outreach magazines, Elementos (Mexico) and Elhuyar (Spain), and in a tourism magazine Identidad Veracruz.
These days I shoot with a Canon Powershot G7X Mark II, also called “Vochi”. Before 2017/07 I was shooting with a Canon Powershot SX280 HS, the reknown “Patata”.
In the menu you can see several collections of photographs. There is also an extensive collection in my Instagram account.
